Soon to rise from vacant land near the John Deere Museum and waterfront, the CourtWorks sports facility will transform the TechWorks campus for good. This ambitious project has one major goal: Elevate Waterloo and the Cedar Valley to become the premier youth sports tournament destination in
the Midwest.
The Waterloo CourtWorks will:
- Support families by creating a safe, welcoming place for youth sports, recreation and shared experiences without the need to travel far for tournaments.
- Enhance youth sports by providing modern, state-of-the-art hardwood courts and amenities that attract tournaments and events from across the Midwest.
- Invigorate our community by driving economic growth and establishing Waterloo as a hub for sports tourism, hospitality and civic engagement.
In addition to basketball and volleyball tournaments, the sports facility will also attract and host wrestling, gymnastics, pickleball and handball tournaments. Scheduled to open in early 2027, we encourage you learn more about CourtWorks, join us to Raise Our Game — and help build the Cedar Valley into a premier destination for sports, community and connection.
